CPRC Leads National Fight for Parental Rights, Spotlighted by President Trump

ATLANTA, GA – Tuesday night, President Donald Trump welcomed January Littlejohn as a special guest during his address to Congress, shining a national spotlight on her courageous stand for parental rights—a stand championed by the Child & Parental Rights Campaign (CPRC). As a client and now a key team member, January’s story is emblematic of the high-stakes legal battles reshaping the landscape for parents and children nationwide.
President Trump further challenged the Congress to codify his commitment to protecting children saying, “I want Congress to pass a bill permanently banning and criminalizing ‘sex changes’ on children and forever ending the lie that any child is trapped in the wrong body. This is a big lie.”
“January’s recognition by President Trump underscores that CPRC is at the forefront of defending families against government overreach,” said Vernadette Broyles, CPRC President and General Counsel. “We’re taking on the toughest fights—from precedent-setting appeals to college locker rooms—because these are battles we ultimately must win.”
In the case, Foote v. Ludlow School Committee, CPRC is appealing a radical First Circuit ruling that undermines constitutionally protected parental rights, taking the fight to the U.S. Supreme Court. The case, pitting Massachusetts parents Stephen Foote and Marissa Silvestri against a school district that concealed school officials’ actions to promote their children’s rejection of their sex, would set a landmark precedent if the Court agrees to hear it. “We believe this is the case the Supreme Court has been waiting for,” Broyles said. “A ruling in favor of the parents would make unmistakably clear a parent’s right to direct the upbringing of their children when school officials conspire to treat children as something other than their sex is the law of the land, overturning this egregious decision.”
From January Littlejohn’s spotlight moment to precedent-setting litigation, “CPRC is not just reacting to the culture war—but we’re shaping it to protect our children’s wellbeing and defend our sacred parental rights,” Broyles added.
